OFFICIAL RULES2008 "Why Do You Love Football""Pro Football Hall of Fame/Canon Adult and Teen Amateur Photo Challenge"NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. The 2008 Pro Football Hall of Fame/Canon Adult and Teen Amateur Photo Challenge (the "Contest") is co-sponsored by the Pro Football Hall of Fame ("Hall of Fame") 2121 George Halas Drive NW, Canton, Ohio 44708 and Canon U.S.A., Inc. ("Canon USA") One Canon Plaza, Lake Success, NY 11042-1198 (collectively, the "Sponsors"). The Contest is open to any legal U.S. resident that falls into one of two age categories (age determined as of 9/01/08), 13 - 18 years of age (Teen) and over 18 years of age (Adult) who is not a "professional photographer," that is, one who has not earned 51% or more of his or her annual income by taking, selling or marketing photographs, whether as an employee or a freelance photographer, during the last three (3) years (the "Contestant"). Employees and their immediate families of the Sponsors, the NFL Entities (as defined below), their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising or promotion agencies and professional photographers are not eligible. The individuals who were chosen as Grand Prize winners in the 2007 Pro Football Hall of Fame/Canon Adult and Teen Amateur Photo Challenge are also not eligible. Void where prohibited. No purchase or entry fees required. Subject to all federal, state and local laws. The Contest will begin on 09/01/08 at 12pm Eastern Time (ET) and end on 12/03/08 at 5pm ET (the "Contest Period.") Each contestant may submit no more than ten different images captured during the 2008 football season of activities surrounding youth football to www.usa.canon.com/nfl. All entries must be submitted separately: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO UPLOAD MORE THAN ONE PHOTO PER ENTRY FORM. All entries must be received by 12/03/08 at 5:00pm ET. 2. Photo Submission. Photos that have been previously published or won a prize in any other contest or competition are ineligible. This includes but is not limited to photos that were submitted as entries for the 2007 Pro Football Hall of Fame/Canon Adult and Teen Amateur Photo Challenge. Photos cannot include representations of any person unless he or she (or his/her parent/legal guardian, if depicted person is a minor) has executed a release acceptable to the Sponsors. Any photo with names, logos or other indicia that may be owned or controlled by a third party(including but not limited to collegiate or professional football teams) is ineligible (such third party indicia must be removed prior to submission). Should Sponsors determine, in their sole discretion, that a third party release is unacceptable or conclude that a photo features any unauthorized content (that has not been removed), such photo will be disqualified. In addition, montages and composite images are ineligible. The photo must be from a single capture. If cruel or unethical practices are suspected in Sponsors'/judges' sole discretion, the photo will be disqualified. Photo will also be disqualified if it contains any scene of gratuitous violence, reckless or anti-social behavior, improper conduct or is otherwise unfit for publication, as determined by Sponsors/judges in their sole discretion. Photos must have been taken with either a digital camera or scanned from a film slide, negative or print. Only digital submissions are allowed; do not submit actual prints or slides. File sizes must be at least 8" x 10", 300dpi and saved to 1-5 MB. All files should be named in the following format and must not include spaces or unusual characters, such as apostrophes, quotes, etc.: filename.jpg. An example of an eligible filename is ‹rainbow01.jpg›. An example of an ineligible filename is 3. Panelist Judging. For each of the two age groups (Teen and Adult), a panel of independent, professional photographers shall judge eligible entries in two categories - action (Any image that captures football action during a play) and feature (Any image not including game action on the field. This includes images of the sidelines, fans or the field taken before or after a play and other representations of football in daily life). Judges shall determine in their sole discretion into which category a submitted photograph falls. Images will be judged by the subject, composition and image quality in the opinion of the judges. Judges will select twenty eight (28) finalists in total: seven (7) Action Finalists ages 13 - 18, seven (7) Action Finalists over 18 years old, seven (7) Feature Finalists ages 13 - 18 and seven (7) Feature Finalists over 18 years old. Judging will take place on or about the week of 12/08/08. Finalists will be contacted either in person or by overnight courier or phone within approximately seven (7) days from selection. Judges' decisions on all matters relating to the Contest are final and binding. 4. Fan Voting. The twenty eight (28) finalists selected by the aforementioned panel of judges will have their photographs displayed in a photo gallery on www.canonusa.com/nfl where web site visitors will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite photographs in each of the two (2) age groups (Teen and Adult) and (2) subject categories (Action and Feature). Once voters have identified their favorite Action and favorite Feature photograph in each age group, they will then have the opportunity to vote for their overall favorite photo in each age group. Voting will take place between 12/22/08 at 9AM ET and 01/09/09 at 5:00PM ET("voting period"). Contestant acknowledges and agrees that, if his/her photo is selected as a Finalist, (a) while Sponsors will seek to accurately present photos in the "gallery," the photo as posted on the web site may differ from the photo as originally submitted by Contestant due to technological malfunction/error/defect/limitation/modifications and Sponsors shall have no liability related thereto; (b) other than categorizing photos as either "action" or "feature" and by age group, Sponsors may post photos in the gallery in any order, format or pattern, at their sole discretion; and (c) Sponsors may, at their sole discretion, include any (or no) comment/commentary in conjunction with photos posted on the web site. Finalists may vote for their own photograph, but there is a limit of one (1) vote per e-mail address. If multiple votes are submitted from the same e-mail address, all such votes will be discounted. Use of automated, programmed or robotic means of Contest participation (including voting) or use of any other artifice by a web site visitor to submit votes in excess of the foregoing limitation on voting or otherwise to manipulate the voting totals is strictly prohibited and any votes submitted thereby will be discounted; such conduct will also be deemed by Sponsor to constitute tampering with the Contest. Sponsors reserve the right, at their sole discretion, to disqualify any individual they find, in their sole discretion, to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest (including the voting procedure) or the web site. Votes will be tallied, photographs ranked and prizes awarded within each of the two age groups. In each age group, the photograph which receives the highest number of votes within its respective subject category, as tallied by Sponsors, will be declared the 1st Place Prize winner; second highest number of votes within its respective subject category will be the Second Prize winner; third highest will be the Third Prize winner and the remaining four (4) photographs in each subject category are Honorable Mentions. Of the two 1st place prize winners in each age group, the photograph with the higher number of overall favorite votes will be the Grand Prize winner in that age group. In the event of a tie, Grand Prize, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place Prize will be determined in a random drawing from among all such tied Contest participants (in the applicable age group). In each age group, the Grand Prize winner will also win a 1st Place Prize. Tallying of votes and winner determination will occur on or about 01/14/09 and winners will be notified by mail, electronic mail or via telephone. 5. Prizing. Grand Prize (2, 1 per age group): Includes (i) a trip for four (4) to the 2009 Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Celebration (07/31/09 through 08/02/09, dates subject to change) and (ii) a trip for four (4) to Super Bowl XLIII on 02/01/08 in Florida (Tampa Bay, FL). Trip to the 2009 Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Celebration consists of round trip coach air transportation from the major commercial airport nearest winner's residence to Canton, OH, standard hotel accommodations double occupancy for four (4) nights, 07/31/09 through 08/02/09, four (4) tickets to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, four (4) tickets to the Pro Football Hall of Fame Hoover Company Grand Parade, four (4) tickets to the Pro Football Hall of Fame Pre-Enshrinement Brunch (08/01/09), four (4) tickets to the Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Ceremony (08/01/09), four (4) tickets to the Pro Football Hall of Fame Pre-Game Tailgate Party (08/02/09), and four (4) tickets to the AFC-NFC Pro Football Hall of Fame Game (08/02/09). Trip to Super Bowl XLII consists of round trip coach air transportation from the major commercial airport nearest winner's residence to Tampa Bay, FL, 4 days/3 nights standard hotel accommodations (2 rooms, double occupancy), mid-size car rental, and four (4) tickets to Super Bowl XLIII. Winner's photos may be featured at the NFL Experience but Sponsors have no obligation to do so and will have no liability if winner's photo is not so featured. Winner and guests must travel on same itinerary (as set by Sponsors in their sole discretion). All expenses not specified in these Official Rules are the winner's sole responsibility. Winner must be able to accept the prize in its entirety (both the Hall of Fame and Super Bowl trips) or not at all; and, if winner is unable to travel on dates indicated by Sponsors so as to attend both the Hall of Fame Enshrinement Celebration and the Super Bowl, the prize will be forfeited. To accept car rental component of Super Bowl trip prize, winner must be 25 or over, have a valid driver's license currently in force and at least one major credit card, as well as complying with all other terms of standard car rental agreement. If winner does not qualify for car rental, he/she will instead receive a transportation voucher valued at $500. All prize winners and four (4) honorable mentions per subject category per age group (16 in total) will receive a plaque of recognition. If prize is won by a minor, Sponsors reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to award prize in the name or to the minor's parent or legal guardian. Minor Grand Prize winner must be accompanied on trips by his/her parent or legal guardian, who will count as one of winner's three guests. Winners may not transfer their prizes or request cash or other substitutions. However, the Sponsors may substitute a prize of equal or greater value at their sole discretion due to prize unavailability for any reason. Taxes shall be the sole responsibility of the individual winners. Neither Sponsor nor any of its agents assumes any responsibility for damages, losses or injury resulting from receipt, acceptance or use of any prize. 6. Release of Liability. Within seven (7) days of notification, each potential winner (if a minor, his/her parent or legal guardian) shall submit a signed affidavit of eligibility, release of liability/publicity (where permitted) and prize acceptance (the "Affidavit and Release"), and a release executed by each person (if a minor, his/her parent or legal guardian) who appears in the entry (if any), or be disqualified. In the Affidavit and Release, each winner (if a minor, his/her parent or legal guardian) shall give the Sponsors permission, whether directly or indirectly through third-party licensees, to utilize the entry and make derivative works of the entry, including the right to reproduce same, in connection with the reproduction, distribution, public display, publication, republication, and modification of the entry, whether in whole or in part (including, without limitation, use in connection with one or both of the Sponsors' promotional materials, such as Sponsors' web sites in a winners' gallery and advertising in connection with this and/or future contests), with or without the winner's name, photo, likeness and biographical information, subject to applicable law, and without the further consent of, or compensation to, the winner (if a minor, or to his/her parent or legal guardian) and/or any person who appears in the entry (if a minor, his/her parent or legal guardian). The Affidavit and Release shall also certify the winner's eligibility and the photo ownership, originality and non-infringement. Subject to the rights granted to Sponsors, each winner (if a minor, his/her parent or legal guardian) retains all copyrights in the photo. For Grand Prize, each travel guest of winner (if a minor, his/her parent or legal guardian) must sign and return a liability/publicity release (where permitted), prior to issuance of travel documents. Minor travel guests must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian (who will count as one of the guests if not the winner). If the Sponsors are unable to contact potential prize winner(s), if the potential winner(s) fail to complete and return all forms by the specified date or if the potential winner(s) fail to comply with any of the requirements, or if any prize or prize notification is returned as undeliverable, alternate winner(s) will be selected. All contestants (if minor, his/her parent or legal guardian) release and agree to hold harmless the NFL Entities (as defined below), the Sponsors and their respective agents, advertising and promotion agencies, affiliated companies, Contest partners and prize suppliers, and all of their respective affiliated companies, employees, officers, directors and shareholders, from and against all claims and damages arising in connection with each contestant's participation and/or entry in the Contest and/or their receipt or use of any prize awarded in this Contest. This Contest is governed by U.S. law and is subject to all federal, state and local laws. Void where prohibited by law. Allow six to eight weeks after submitting the Affidavit and Release and other required materials for delivery of prizes (provided that winner's eligibility and full compliance with these Official Rules has been verified). 7.
